Our luck was in when we found this cottage on the Internet. We spoke with Dustin Spurrell, the owner, and found his enthusiasm for the cottage and Dunfield to be infectious. He now lives in St John’s but his whole family goes back many generations in Dunfield. We kept on meeting Spurrells who had either lived nearby or had actually lived in an earlier version of the cottage.

Dustin has spent a lot of money extending  and totally renovating the cottage to modern standards.  Many holiday-houses do not have heating and are not suitable for winter  but Spurrell’s Heritage Home has electric heating, cable TV, a good high speed internet, washer and drier and a fully equipped kitchen. We were very comfortable for the 3 months that we spent there.
